South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club (SCYC) is perched on the headland next to Abersoch main beach and offers stunning views of St Tudwal’s islands, Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia from the Club bar and renowned Cove restaurant. For sailors, the waters are pristine, there is no commercial traffic and tides, such as they are, are fair. For families ashore, the beaches offer clean sand with warm and clear waters - on calm days you may even see dolphins playing close inshore. Abersoch village offers a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants and there are many other attractions in the surrounding countryside of the beautiful Llyn Peninsula.
The Club, which was founded in 1924, has over 900 members who enjoy dinghy and keelboat sailing from Easter through to October. There are two mixed dinghy fleets and two mixed racing and cruising keelboat fleets plus one-design fleets for Pandoras, Dragons and Squibs. In addition to Club racing, SCYC hosts many international and national championships for visiting associations and runs a number of Open Weeks notably Abersoch Dinghy Week (in the last week of July), Abersoch Mirror week (3rd week of August) and Abersoch Keelboat Week (last week of August)  – come and join us for some enjoyable and competitive sailing and for a great social scene.
